Crystal Cushenbery

I am the new Office Coordinator starting in June of 2024 and I’m excited to join the team here at L2!

I was born and raised in Wichita, KS and then when I met my husband, who was raised in Cherryvale, we moved to Clearwater, KS. That was my first experience with living in a smaller community and I absolutely loved it! His job had us move to Norman, OK for a few years but luckily we were able to go back to Kansas and settled briefly on a small acreage lot in Haysville. During this time we started raising chickens, goats and a couple cows.  However, Haysville wasn’t quite big enough and we needed more room to expand our love of animals. We made the move to Neodesha, KS in 2022 to be closer to my husband’s immediate family and on a property with more acreage and room to grow our “farm”.  

I attended college at Friends University and received my undergraduate degree in Music. When I graduated I was working for a public school in Wichita as a paraeducator. I continued that position for 7 years until I went to Wichita State University and earned my Masters in Teaching-Early Childhood Unified degree. I immediately changed positions from para to teacher. I taught in Wichita, Norman, Goddard and Fredonia over the last 10 years. I have enjoyed working with young children but knew it was time for a change. I am hoping my professionalism, management and organizational skills from teaching will transfer over to this position and I am able to keep the office running smoothly.

After moving to Neodesha, I began a small business making and selling goat milk soaps and lotions along with produce I grow in the summer. I love being in my garden and outside with all of my animals.
