I grew up on a 4th generation commercial cow/calf and stocker cattle ranch west of Howard, Kansas in the southern part of the Flint Hills. I spent a lot of time outside whether on horses, gathering, doctoring, sorting cattle to tractors, raking and baling hay. Besides working much of my childhood was spent doing 4-H, FFA and school sports. After high school, I attend college in North Carolina and received my B.S. in accounting. But my desire to get back to the Midwest and agriculture led me to a career in the feed lot industry in management. After spending several years in Texas, Western Kansas and Eastern Colorado, I knew I wanted to come back to my hometown.
After working several years on the family ranch and in the oil operation, I decided to venture out on my own. I met and married my husband who also happens to be from Elk County and we started our own cattle operation along with an oilfield construction business. In 2001 I decided to take my love of rural community and agriculture and pursue a career in real estate. The flexibility of real estate was perfect for allowing me to be a stay at home mom to our twin girls – Anna & Rachel. They are now pursuing ag degrees at Oklahoma State University.
Having been raised in agriculture in rural Kansas and having raised my children in the same environment, I can’t think of a better place to raise children. From learning the value of hard work, to developing problem solving skills, to be able to see the rewards of your efforts, I love being in rural communities and helping others find their passion here. I am excited to team up with L2 Realty to partner with their resources and my expertise to make your real estate experience the best.
I am excited to help you find your next property whether it be a place to raise your kids and/or grandkids or just a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the world, I will work endlessly to help find the right place for you. And I also want you to fall in love with your community, so let me help you to connect to your “new” hometown.
